Sky wifi booster

I have a sky wifi booster that I use in a part of the house that the wifi isn't so great in and it boosts the wifi which works fine. It also has a Ethernet port on the back so my question is can I run a Ethernet cable from my router to my wifi booster at the far end of the house where we don't get internet? Will this then create a wifi hotspot or does it not work like that. Has anyone else done this with the sky booster.
Thanks.
Thanks.
