O/S Daily Friday 24 March 2017

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Now light, dry and sun is shining, yesterday turned out to be a lovely day, sunshine most of the day with a breeze, excellent line drying conditions, and I did get some washing line dried, but some I put out too late and it wasn't quite dry, but as there was no cloud it turned quite cold by 6pm.

DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit.

Dinner last night was gammon, egg, roasted new potatoes and veg, ice cream for dessert for those that wanted some. Dinner tonight will possibly be chicken and bacon kievs, chips and beans for the menfolk, I have fishcakes in the fridge that I'll have with veg/salad.

Yesterday I wasn't overly productive, but did get several loads of washing done, some line dried, but will continue with that today. I did visit the bank and building society and organised the mothers day gifts, just need to get the cards today whilst doing the food shopping as I couldn't find cards I liked yesterday. I did also run the hoover over the downstairs. So today I need to do the food shopping first thing, then continue with washing, drying etc, I'll do some more housework and then do the ironing, and hopefully there will be some time for cooking/baking. I'm working tomorrow so need to get as much done today as possible.

Keep safe and well x

Morning everyone, it is clear here and dry but seems colder than it has been. I'm sitting here shivering and may have to put some heating on at a low level. Or get dressed but that is bound to wake the sleeping husband. He likes my days off, he doesn't have to get up and take me to the bus!

I have the usual cleaning to do today, plus a mountain of washing, it has built up more than usual this week since it is not drying very quickly and the rack space is not infinite.

Need to get mum's card in the post and I have a bit of work to do.

I had better get started, the bathroom fairy seems to have flown away so it must be my job.

    Have good days, all.

  • Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Brr it's a frosty start here but promises to be a re-run of yesterday when we had blue sky and sunshine all the way.

Well we survived our hectic day yesterday. Mr TA's Oncology appt went as well as it could do. The long awaited blood results showed no change so. for now, treatment stays at the monthly injection and 6 monthly scans.

Youngest DGD up and watching Peppa Pig, middle one still fast asleep and DD dropping eldest off on her way to work at 6.45. (DD delighted with her consultation evening last night - 13 glowing reports and treat her to the cinema after to see Beauty and the Beast)

DS coming over for the day to help Mr TA with some long overdue jobs outside. Time permitting afterwards he has a small job on his car too. Then down to GF's to do a job for her too. Busy day for him!

Being Friday it's cleaning day for me and it so needs it. A layer of dust everywhere, carpets full of bits and a hacky bathroom. Cleaning has taken a back seat this week as we have been too busy to think about something as mundane as cleaning!

Food yet to be sorted for the day so a freezer rummage is the next job.

Have a good day folks and (HUGS) for the poorlies, sad or worried who want one. Take care xx

Good Morning all, bit dull looking outside at the moment, but fingers crossed it will brighten up I have history club this afternoon and we are discussing authors. Then tonight I am off to a rotary club dinner that is a charity thing with the theme Murder ,Mystery so it should be interesting as long as no one drowns in the soup or ends up kebabed by a kitchen knife :):):)

Only one more week until we are off to the IoW for a few days fingers crossed the weather will brighten up for us all.
Right the kettle is calling me for some coffee
have a good day chums what ever you are doing

    Cheers JackieO xx

    Morning everyone.

We had a very bright but cold day yesterday, the best part was no rain!

I'm off soon down to Glasgow airport to collect my friend who arrives in at 10am, then I need to go into the city to buy yet another blooming curtain track. Firstly the pole was wrong and last night it turned out that the corded track was also wrong. I'm now getting an uncorded plain piece of track.

On the way home I'm planning on taking the scenic route, drop through Helensburgh, past the Holy Loch and up to Arrochar, it's so lovely in the sunshine.

Now it's time for my shower and then set off.

    Happy Friday to all.

    Morning all,

Didn't sleep well unfortunately. Hubby was tossing and turning all night. An early start for him today and he's taken Youngest with him. Youngest needed some practical experience in a working environment for his college course and it's quicker if he does it with his Dad than wait to be placed somewhere so he's booked a day off work.

Did the bare minimum in the house yesterday so need to catch up today as well as arrange an appointment with my GP. I'll probably see Prodigal today too.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

  • GERS you are stirring memories again! We had a few days in Arrochar over Easter 4/5 years ago and were blessed with amazing weather. The views over the loch and surrounding fells were stunning and I couldn't stop taking photos.

    Morning All

The sun is shining! I'm going to leave all the windows open on the catch today to get some air in, I think I'll leave the cellar doors open too.

DDs flat is empty, I have her chair here - I can't get it through the doors in this house so it's stuck in the hall, hopefully she will come over at the weekend and help me move it upstairs. She also has to help to put all the stuff in the loft if she wants it storing here.

Have a good weekend with your friend Gers, looks like it will be good weatherwise.
    Glad everything went well TA.

Happy Friday everyone. Take care. XX

Morning (((((((((( hugs )))))))))) if you need one.

Awake early, needed the loo. We bought the chair yesterday, it's due for delivery this morning. At £99 it's got to be good, if it lasts 2 or 3 years it will be worth it. We also got the wood for the deep beds.

I finished a commission bag yesterday, so it can be delivered later today, I need a haircut so the cash can go towards that.

Sun shining through the curtains so it must be quite bright outside, it feels chilly though.

April is going to be a shuttle back month, so extra Frugal, good job I have plenty in the freezer.

    Good morning everyone :hello:

It's dry but grey and very cold here this morning. Hubby has left for work and DD's 15 and 17 are running around getting ready for school. DD14 is staying in bed this morning as she didn't get hardly any sleep last night due to her hallucinations again. Her voices are telling her to do violent awful things to herself so I will be keeping a close eye on her. I took DD17 to see our gp yesterday and she has been referred to Camhs as well for depression and anxiety. I don't know what is going on with my girls but I feel like a bloody awful parent that's for sure.

My lovely friend is having her gall bladder removed today and I hope and pray it all goes smoothly so good wishes for her would be welcome. She looks after two daughters with M.E and she has recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I hope she will be able to rest afterwards so she can properly recover from her op.

Hubby was moaning that there was no room for the shopping that arrived yesterday. I didn't feel able to say that there is going to be a musclefood delivery today :). Hopefully it will come before he gets home and I will squirrel it away in our chest freezer. I am planning lots of lovely new recipes to try with the contents. Tonight is going to be zingy basil chicken with noodles/rice. Hubby is in charge of cooking over the weekend and then it's back to me.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care x
