Hi there,
Myself & Wife are looking for some mortgage advice as we have received some conflicting advice from 2 mortgage brokers.
We are both in full time employment with a combined salary of around 60K PA and we currently have a 10K deposit. My wife has a clean credit score but I have 3 defaults on my file. One is for £6000 and is due to disappear and become statute barred next month, another is for £82 and is 5 years old (utility company) and the last one is for £120 which is 4 years old (mobile phone company).
What I am hoping to get advice on is firstly, are all my defaults old enough to attempt to apply to a mainstream lender? And whether it is worth waiting another 2 months to apply where the big debt default will disappear (mortgage broker says it won't make a difference whether we apply now or wait the 2 months).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Sean
