Have you looked for start-up loans? They are government backed for those wanting to start a business. Your local council may have advice on this.
No need to trouble council with questions about startup loans, while this is gov-backed scheme, it's delivered via private companies. There may be two blockers on OP way to get loan from them:

    1. Lack of viable business plan. This is very important for your success, you must be clear what business you are gettting into, and that it makes fiscal sense.
    2. His credit file may be also a problem, as they do a full credit check. It's not as bad as with normal loans, they still have to be responsible lenders and this is a loan you have to repay.

I can't work 2 jobs as I have the responsibility of caring for my partner

    Hi OP,

I remember you from your previous threads and your well documented ups and downs. I vaguely remember a thread about your partner being pregnant and some SS issues to do with reducing your work hours. Did this ever get resolved / who will be looking after the child if your partner is coming to work with you so to speak?

Have you looked into Carers Allowance if you can't work due to looking after your partner?

Has your partner applied for ESA? DLA?

Have you tried contacting the Adult Social Services in your local council for help for your partner with regards to a care assessment or direct payments team so that they could assess her needs and she could perhaps employ a support worker / personal assistant from the funds to help? This would ease your burden so to speak.

    Good luck :)

  • My daughter did not come home and has subsequently been adopted

My partner claimed DLA/PIP, but was refused it

Hence I cannot get Carers Allowance and she cannot get ESA

    Oh, sorry to hear that.

Has she appealed the rejection? I think that would be key in regards to getting her more help/also ease your financial situation.

How's your shoulder? Would that be a factor long term with regards to your proposal of offering gardening (i.e. any heavy lifting/manual labour)/dog walking services?

Keep us updated, would love to see how it pans out for you :)

  • We have appealed it once and still got rejected so we are going to a tribunal

My shoulder is a lot better now thanks
