Britannia Parking PCN advice

Hello all,

I received a PCN from Britannia Parking as my vehicle (I am the keeper) was parked in a local Waitrose last month, in Oxfordshire.

The driver arrived at the car park at approx 12:10, only had a £2 coin on them which the machine would not accept (parking charge was £1.50 for 2 hours). The Driver proceeded into Waitrose (I assume owners of the car park) to obtain change. It was busy therefore it took several minutes to get the change. The Driver returned to another machine which was faulty, then proceeded to the original machine where there was a queue, (presumably because of the faulty machine) however they were able to purchase a ticket timed at 12:20. On returning to the car there was a parking attendant taking photos, The driver obviously explained but to no avail.

The Driver removed the ticket that had been stuck on the car and returned it to the attendant, stating that they do not accept unsolicited mail from strangers (he apparently had no ID and would not show ID).

Today, as the keeper of the vehicle I have received PCN letter from them at my registered keepers address in Scotland, asking me to name the driver and/or pay the fine. They have the vehicle on camera at 12:16 parked in the Waitrose, during this time the driver was trying to get change.

Where do I stand here? they state on the PCN that they have observed the vehicle from 12:04 there is no photo evidence of this fact. Clearly the driver intended to purchase a ticket but the machine wouldn't accept the coinage. the driver has the 12:20 purchased ticket in their possession.

Many Thanks in advance for any advice.

You need to immediately edit your post to remove any information about who did what. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper.

    DO IT NOW!

Then read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES about what to do if you live in Scotland.

For speed I will tell you, ignore anything and everything once you have edited your post. Only the driver is liable, not the keeper in Scotland, which is why it is so important not to tell them who it is.

The driver can be identified from the information you have given here.

Many Thanks fruitcake, hopefully a better edit now?

I understand your point about Scotland, and this is why I am asking the question. The alleged parking offence took place in Oxfordshire, however the registered keepers address is in Scotland. Is it still okay to follow the advice to ignore?

Yes. The NEWBIES thread is up to date and tells you to ignore private parking tickets if the keeper lives in Scotland.

You should also complain to your MP, Mrs May, and Andrew Jones MP about this unregulated scam industry.
