15mm Copper Gas Pipe Length
i'm having my kitchen refurbished and wish to place a gas 'range' on an external wall for ease of venting as opposed to what I already have with a ceramic hob/oven on an internal wall.
My current copper pipework runs outside my property from the meter in the garage (where the combi boiler is) across the front and down the side of the house where it enters the house and terminates to a gas fire
Considering extending this 15mm pipework by another 15 meters or so to the range cooker
Before i commit to purchasing the Range, the question is, whats the general max distance for copper pipework to supply a good supply?
Thanks in advance

Wrong forum really.
But are you sure it doesn't need 22mm?
I think you will be ok though as I have an aga on 15mm0 -
There isn't a 'general max length'. It has to be calculated taking into account the gas rating of each appliance and the length of the pipe, taking into account bends.
I think it unlikely that 15mm pipe will supply both a gas fire and a range cooker, at any length. You may need 28mm between the meter and the fire, then 22mm on to the cooker depending on the cooker rating.
Your registered gas installer (RGI) will design and install the pipework to comply with the gas safety regulations. You cannot do this work yourself.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

Actually you can, as long as you judge yourself to be competent.0 -

As long as you are competent. The OP clearly does not have the knowledge to do this work himself.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Thanks all
I am competent running copper, but for water only, wouldn't entertain gas
15mm is in situ already but I don't think i have enough room for 22mm, but i'll get a gas tech out to work the calculations
thanks again0 -
My husband knows someone, who was certified/qualified to deal with gas piping in industry, but legally couldn't fit his own gas cooker.
Also, the Gas Safe engineer or fitted and services our boiler, told me that he is not allowed to service gas appliances in static caravans, as he is only certified for mains gas.0
