Scottish Power Power Up Farce

So at the end of Jan, I became a customer of SP, with the intention of moving over to Power Up, as this was the cheapest package for me (bearing in mind I am entitled to WHD). I originally move over to their cheapest package, which was June 2018 V2 and mid Feb, moved over to Power Up.
Last Friday, 17 March, I had smart meters installed. The reasoning for this, was that if one of their non powerup packages became cheaper, then I could move and still monitor my usage. I explained to SP why I wanted a SM, and they told me, whilst the SM functions would not work with Power Up, as I would still have to give meter readings, there would be no issue with having a SM with Power Up.
My power up app has been playing up this week, so I rang them to ask for some guidance. After a while, the person came back to me stating that the problems are because I have a SM and I would have to leave PowerUP until the SMET2 meters are being installed. I stated that no documentation on the powerup site states that it would not work with SM, to which he agreed. He also noted that none of this was my fault.
He told me that the cheapest tariff I could move over to, was the April 2018. I told him that this package would work out £7 a month more than what I was paying on my old tariff (June 2018 V2) and could I not move back over to that. He told me that for this to happen, he would have to raise a complaint and for the complaint team to make the decision. I was told they would ring me tomorrow before 4pm.
What are my chances of moving back to my previous tariff of June 2018 v2, as all their current tariffs are far more expensive and last 3 months less?

Not looking good at the moment.
1) I get an email to say a complaint has been raised and a link to the tracker. This says I have no open complaints.
2) Without the promised call, they has closed my powerup account and set up a new pay monthly account and placed me on standard tariff.
3) On hold for 45 mins and then cut off. Trying again.0 -
It has now been referred back to powerup. A week in limbo, not knowing what the heck is going on and how much I will be charged.0

So Scottish Power can't read their OWN SMETS 1 smart meter?
This must be the first case of auto-immune response in cybernetic biology. Sky.net, AI, it's all true. Run for your life.

I will give them their due, they have come up with a good compromise.
They will be transferring me back to my old June 2018 v2 tariff and compensate me £100, for the difference between my powerup tariff and the June 2018 v2 tariff.
So no worse off and could be better off, if they increase the powerup tariff, between now and next June.
I will wait for them to start installing the SMET 2 meters and then move back to powerup.0
