Cash delivery by courier

We have an elderly lady friend (86 years old). She lives on her own in the countryside. She cannot drive and her eyesight is failing. She needs to get cash out from time to time. We do not want to know her pin number as this would compromise her bank guarantee. Does anyone know a service whereby she can telephone and get cash delivered by courier. In theory this should work as I can get FX couriered with no problem. I have spoken to FX companies but they only allow overseas currencies (not GBP to GBP). I have also spoken to her current bank Santander but they do not offer such a service. It would seem to me a reasonable service to have available. Is there any alternative? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

It does seem like a reasonable solution, but I have never heard of any bank offering such a service. If you're prepared to do it then a simpler answer may be for her to write you a cheque and you give her cash in return.0

not sure if this will helpbut santander do allow her to fill out a third party access form she could do that so you can access her account0

Can't help with courier ideas (other than to doubt such a service exists)
So I'd advise either
A. stop worrying about the PIN number issue and just do it or
B. As agrinnall has suggested take her your own cash and get her to write you a cheque.
I do both from time to time for my old Mum0 -
mt99 post 3 has the solution.
If she has any family perhaps someone could consider asking her to give Power of Attorney.
As a friend could you not drive her to her bank to withdraw?0 -
Old thread discussing a similar requirement.

The RVS operate a cheap community transport service for older people and they could take the lady to a bank. Staffed by volunteers.

Other schemes may exist locally - dial-a-ride, volunteer groups, Age Concern / AgeUK, Red Cross ...0

Can she either go (or get help to) the Post Office?
I know many rural locations have either a Post Office counter or a mobile Post Office van. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
