Wait until the tax and insurance run out. Not having an MOT is not reason for it to be lifted.0

"police not bothered" - seems par for the course although it would only be an offence if he actually drove it without a pre-booked MoT. They can't realistically stake it out for a month or more can they?
I had an uninsured car in my road for over a month; no-one interested (well not police or council). It just disappeared one day; I think whoever had dumped it there just returned and drove away.
"what can i do ?" Nothing until the tax runs out and then the council can be informed and should clamp it and then remove it.0 -
poor service from council and police considering amount of tax paid
rather than buying dozen of x5s maybe buy cheaper cars and invest in more staff so people get the service they deserve0 -
Is it even an offence to have a car parked on the road with no MOT if it is insured and taxed ? I've had one of mine like that for a couple of months due to being out of the country and waiting for a part.0

The offence is actually "using"the car, not "driving" it, and case law has interpreted "using" very broadly, including keeping a vehicle parked on the road. So the owner is strictly speaking committing an offence simply by leaving the car parked there - though it's hardly the crime of the century and I can see why the police wouldn't be very interested."police not bothered" - seems par for the course although it would only be an offence if he actually drove it without a pre-booked MoT. AFAIK there is no power to impound a vehicle for having no MOST so the most the police could do is stuck a fixed penalty on the car.
Not sure why this is in the Insurance forum?0 -
