Hi, anyone got any experience in this situation please?
My partner works 30+ hrs, i have just got a job as a Teaching Assistant (hurrah!) but its only for 10 hrs a week (boo hoo).
We have a daughter who is 3 in november so from january my current situation will be resolved because she gets 15hrs worth of free childcare (although does anyone know if this can be split between childminder/nursery/preschool(not attached to a school) - i think it can be)
However my problem currently is that i need childcare for 2 days a week and the cost, minus the cut in tax credits means that financially i will be worse of than i am now. HOWEVER, i want to work and i want to work in a school so this position seems to be as good a place as any!
So i need some sort of resolution - all i can think of is getting a job in asda etc for 6 hrs per week - would this work?
any other ideas?
thanks

as long as you do 16 hours a week, tax credits will help with your childcare.
it can be either 1 job or a combination of 2 or 3 if you wish, as long as the total is 16hours or more...
i know childcare is so hard and alot of jobs are now below 16 hours.
i have been looking for 1 year and finally got a job, not what i really want to do but it is better than nothing.
i also want to work in childcare but cant get hours to fit in with 2 childrens nursery !!!
good luck hope you sort things out !! :T0
