My spreadsheets do not seem to be compatible with Libre Office and are causing confusion when I edit.
I am trying to change email addresses in a cell and they automatically come up highlighted grey and I cannot change this. If I click on the cell it opens up a browser that I hardly use and I don't know how to change this.
I use the spreadsheet to advise members of groups and since changing to Windows 10 with Libre Office I find it totally unuser friendly.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

What format are your spreadsheets being created in ?
ie) What letters are after the dot ?
.xls or something else
If the latter - try .xls or .xlsx and try again - because Libre will cope with both......
It is not Windows that determines the compatibility !0 -
Excel and libre office are not 100% compatible but also have slightly different controls regarding how some cell entries are reacted to.
For the grey email option see how one is resolved at https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=22579&start=0
Hope that will help you.0 -

Quite.
60 or 70% compatible might be nearer the mark!
Fine if you are just creating your own work from scratch but shakey at best if you need to interact with users of the genuine Microsoft apps.0 -
Try opening them in Excel online - it'll probably be a happier experience than going through all the troubleshooting.0
