Parked in co-op car park

Wonderace
Hi totally new to this so any help appreciated.
I've received a PCN in the form of a postal notice to keeper from my local co-op car park, reason given is 'non patron'. I was parked for 8 minutes as I was on a quick errand.
Now the quirk is this. There's a Tesco and a co-op right next to each other, and I usually go into both to buy different things, or at least to browse. This car park says it's for co-op but I can't say I've ever seen any signage about a charge. Here's my question: how can they prove I was a non-patron, and does browsing count as being a patron or must a purchase be made?
How would I go about appealing this ridiculous £100 fine?!

as you have called this a fine, was this a council car park? From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
Please read the Newbies thread at the top of this board. When you have studied it and fully understood it, (it is not the easiest of readings) apply the relevant portions to your situation.
Return as the matter develops if you need help.
There is no simple one size fits all solution and you will have to join the dance by applying your own efforts, but there is no need to pay this charge.0 -

Having read the newbie post it seems the best course will be to appeal using the model given in that thread for an IPC company and contact Co-op head office and shop management to register a complaint?0 -
If this would be useful as a link, please convert it, for wider use. Otherwise, please advise and I will remove.

now you have read the NEWBIES sticky thread it seems you now understand what you need to do, in its entirety
dont expect the PPC to fold at the first appeal, they wont , so you are in it for the long haul , possibly court within 6 years (but ignore the debt collector letters)
welcome to the dance0 -
nope, a pcn from a private company (national parking enforcement ltd, an IPC accredited operator

Correct on both counts. Do not reveal the driver's identity. Show the Co-oP manager/CEO copies of receipts or redacted bank statements from other visits if you have them.I married my cousin. That link doesn't work for me. I would suggest it is a link to something on your computer or cloud as it is asking for login details.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
