If you can see the folder on the IPad, that is a start, do you have an SD card plugged in and is it possible you are looking for photos in the wrong folder? In DCIM are there other folders?0

Do you not have the pics in iCloud?
If not upload to icloud from ipad
Then simply log in to icloud on laptop and download
or better still use 'Google Photos' on both devices

they have to be inside a folder somewhere on your device. can you search for file format jpg etc.
alternatively install google photos on phone and access photos from laptop. unlimited storage is free for photos < 16 megapixels"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -
If as so often happens to me, there is no internet then only small versions of the pics is available!
So one of these is handy to put the pics on when internet is available then they are OK to use on iPad and Macbook.

I'd also recommend Google Photos too-far easier than Apple's offering. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0
