Holiday Hacks/Tips/Tricks

Hi,

Looking for holiday hacks, tips and tricks. Such as packing lists, packing tips, airport tricks and tips etc.

Also, DH and I usually only fly with hand luggage, but have a whopping 22kg hold luggage free each this year - no idea what to fill it with except inflatables for our nephew lol - any ideas?

TIA
Debt peak approx £30,000  now debt free!!! :j
My parents always said "If you can't afford it cash, you can't afford it!" so true!.... mind you, turns out we can't afford much lol :rotfl:

Put all the stuff you have in your hand luggage (except medicines, valuables etc) into other bags and check them in. There's no point in lugging stuff around the airport when there's somebody else to do it for you. There will also be less stress worrying abut space in the overhead bins.

Split you and your husband's stuff equally between two bags so if one gets lost/delayed you'll both still have half your belongings.

Use clear plastic bags as 'drawers' to organise different sorts of garments.

We don't pack half and half, but each carries some spares for the other.

If you use the 'zip lock' type, you can roll them up just prior to sealing, to get all the air out, and then they take up less room in the case :)

No, to rolling or squashing. I don't want to iron when we arrive.

The bags as drawers work brilliantly for touring holidays in particular, as nothing is disturbed by rummaging for a particular garment.

No but you can put underwear, socks, swimming costumes etc. that will not need ironing in the plastic bags that you suck the air out, these take up a lot less room in the suitcase:rotfl:

Join relevant loyalty schemes. If you are flying out of Gatwick https://www.gatwickairport.com/mygatwick/ you sometimes get free coffee from Pret from time to time.
