Their statement in post #9 covers that doesn't it? The way I read it, you get to keep any existing accounts, but may not be able to open new accounts.
  • Perhaps this might suit some people who want to continue free ATM withdrawals in Europe.

    Using your debit card abroad

We won’t charge you for international debit card transactions made in most European countries. And we offer outstanding value rates in the rest of the world.

    Location Card Purchase Cash Withdrawal
    In Europe* FREE FREE
    Outside Europe* 2.50% 2.50% + £1.50
*Where can I use my card for free in Europe?

Hide which countries you can use your card in for free
When we refer to Europe we regard the countries which are part of the Single European Payments Area (SEPA).

19 EU Euro countries - Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain
8 EU non-Euro countries - Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Sweden
2 non-EU, Euro countries – Monaco, San Marino
    4 non-EU, non-Euro countries - Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland
All territories are included by their associated owning country.

If you use your card abroad, any foreign currency transaction will be converted into sterling on the day it’s paid out of your account. The exchange rate is set by MasterCard®.

I have no experience at all with Metro Bank so please do your own research too.

My switch to Nationwide is due to happen very soon. It's a pain, as I have to keep money in both accounts, as some DDs vary in date, and I'm not sure which ones will fall which side of the swap date, and 2 are big ones.

As for communications from N&P, nothing except an invite to vote in the AGM!
