Ladder has blown into neighbours garden causing damage - advice needed

Options
We are currently in the process of having an extension built with scaffolding up.
Today our neighbour has come over stating that last night our ladder blew off our scaffolding and onto his car causing damage.
His car does now have a couple of scratches on and our ladder is in his garden.
I have no doubt that it was our ladder that caused the damage but how should I deal with this?
Is it a matter for his car insurance company or our house insurance?
Or is it best to get the damage repaired without insurance?
Any advice would be gratefully received!

Get in touch with your house insurer. They will look to see in your contractor is liable or you.

Most likely the contractor's problem their liability insurance should cover this.

Whose ladder is it? If it is that of the builders, it is their responsibility. They are negligent by not securing their ladders. It will come off of their liability insurance.

If it is your ladder, it will come off of your house insurance.

If your on good terms with them, see if they want to get a quote and if your happy with the price pay, if not I guess it's a house insurance issue.

If it's the builders ladders then surely it's there issue and there insurance.
