Should I change Sky when I move?

We are moving into a new build in a couple of months and we currently have Sky (in my name only). Is it easier to cancel our subscription & start anew or take our existing contract with us? Didn't know if there were any deals for new customers out there that we won't be entitled too simple for moving it across?

Cancel means you will need to pay the outstanding months of your contract .
Move with Sky and you will probably start a new contract but not a new deal .
Cancel Sky and you are a new customer at the new address for any ISP offers .0 -
Thanks. We're no longer in contract as it has just finished. Probably easier just to cancel altogether then & start afresh as new customers in our new house.0

Don't forget that if you're moving house and there's no dish/cabling at the new property, Sky house move will install that for free for existing Sky customers (done it twice, but last time was 10 years ago!).0

You will also probably have to pay a cease charge on your current line as you are not migrating to another provider or transferring the broadband. It's around £30 so that's something else to factor in to any potential new customer saving.0

The OP has not said whether they refer to tv , phone and broadband or both, but if it's just tv,30/31 days' notice is needed for there to be no penalty.
Be aware that if you take a new tv contract, it will involve Q, where you don't own the box.0 -

True, but I imagine they have BB with some ISP or other so it's something for them to watch out for if they want 'new customer' deals there as well.0
