Just a heads-up for anyone using the LastPass password manager.

The add-ons for Chrome and Firefox may have leaked all your passwords.

Choose your password manager wisely. I would pick a program that utilises my own cloud account to store encrypted data for a start.

Or just manage your passwords yourself, instead of trusting a 3rd party to do it for you !!

KeePass is a great alternative. It's open source and non-proprietary. You can set it to be completely offline if you like, or you can use your own cloud storage (Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox etc) so you can access your database from any device. Far better than trusting LastPass which has been exploited repeatedly

I see the overreaction brigade are already out in force.

1) A white hat found it and reported it to Lastpass
2) There are no known exploits out in the wild, Lastpass users aren't reporting loss of accounts
3) Lastpass have already fixed the problem.

Not to mention being overly excessive and unnecessary.

I use Firefox to store my passwords, but don't have a Firefox account to synchronise my passwords. A perfectly convenient and safe way of managing my passwords.
