Halifax Clarity - Applied over a month ago?

Options
I'm being really messed about and I'm travelling fairly soon!

I applied for this over a month ago in which I had a fairly high chance on the eligibility so I applied and was rejected. Being on a fairly high income, I appealed this and was offered the card. Although I had to make a new application over the phone. After being accepted, they sent out my terms and conditions in which I signed and sent back in the pre-paid envelope and heard nothing after that.
About a week and half ago I contacted them saying I hadn't heard anything, they said they hadn't received my terms and conditions, but they'd send more and I should have them within 3 - 5 days. Still nothing so I just contacted them again and the lady asked me to apply again online but I was rejected. She told me other than going into branch, there's nothing else she can do. Which I'm so tied down with work at the moment, I won't have time to go into branch. So now in a few weeks I have to make a brand new application as my appeal offer expires within 30 days.

Is there anything I could do instead of going into branch?

I'm not sure about the situation with Halifax but have you tried to apply for the creation everyday card or barclaycard travel instead? They both have eligibility checkers. It's another option as Halifax are messing you around.

As above, plus Santander Zero is also just as good for travel.

Or forget about credit cards, sign up for Monzo via the link in the MSE article to jump the queue, load £100 and you card will arrive in a day or two. Same MasterCard exchange rates and zero fees, no interest issues.

    Similarly, Loot: https://loot.io/

These will cost you nothing to have for backup, in addition to a travel credit card.

You've been rejected many times by Halifax and been told to wait longer.

Why do you keep persisting with the Halifax Clarity card?

There are others you may find easier to get e.g. the Barclaycard as you have one of those already so have proved you can manage your finances. Whilst the travel Barclaycard is not free forever it gives you another year to build up a better history and maybe try the Clarity again then, Creation cards are normally easier to get so that could be a better option. Given how hard you have found it to get the Clarity I suspect even if you do get one it will be at their highest rate of the three rates available not the advertised headline rate.

If you really have been accepted but there is an issue receiving or sending the terms and conditions go into branch and sort it out like they have suggested.

You could also possibly complain about the call where you were told to apply online again as that seems like a tactic to get rid of you as the online system would not accept you if you had a card approved pending return of terms and conditions.

Surely you can make some time either during the week or on a Saturday morning to get into branch and get this sorted?

Finally stop claiming to have a fairly high income you don't! You are young, student with a job as well whilst you may view yourself as good income for your age and status in banking terms you are nowhere near a fairly high income so this is one of a number of negative factors holding you back. Have some patience.

The rejection may simply be down to the fact that you had only been in your current job for a few days at the time of applying for the Halifax card. Give it 6 months and try again.
