Canon MG5753 - Upgrade Firmware

The display of my new printer (2 weeks old) says it wants to upgrade the firmware - should I do this? or like with other printers will this lead to 3rd party ink carts being rejected?

    Personally, if the printer is working fine then i see no benefit in upgrading the firmware.


    All you are doing is risking an update that blocks or hinders 3rd party ink

    On my Canon MG5650 printer you can go into the menu and stop firmware updates and notifications.
