School name labels needed

I am trying to find a supply of school name labels, waterproof ones, to put on lunch bottles, soles of shoes etc. I have some iron on ones from Marks & Spencer for clothing, but wondered if anyone had come across a source other than Simply Stuck - I got their leaflet with my Tesco Baby Club mailing the other day (simplystuck.com). Thanks in advance.

Hi Try Ebay under Labels I bought some sew on ones for my nana and you can get shoe lables as well, there are alot of different label products, try searching under afew different headings.

I can vouch for simply stuck, the name labels outlive the shoes/lunchbags/drinking bottles I have used them on, there iron on labels used to be great too but they don''t stick so well now in my opinion. I have no idea about other suppliers but I have bought hundreds of simply stuck dishwasher safe ones, all stashed in a kitchen cupboard, should last for years

Money saving tip - if you buy pre-printed/embroidered labels, just order them with your surname on. You never use the quantity you are supplied, and if you have more than one child the same labels can be used for them all (and for adults too !).
Even those with the most common surnames are unlikely to have more than a couple of children in a school at the same time. (Exception being a Jones in Wales!)"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
My MIL has given me some she had done for my DH! My mum had all our initials as well as our surname on ours. just pleated out the ones which weren't needed.ka7e wrote:Money saving tip - if you buy pre-printed/embroidered labels, just order them with your surname on. I need both names in their clothes so I can tell them apart! But even though I always take the label out before passing things on I'm sure I've had to order a second set for my eldest, can't work out why.
I don't use iron-in labels: I sew them in. Get the sewing machine out each September and do them all at once, long zig-zag stitch and don't bother to tie the ends off!
As for the OP: is a permanent pen not an option?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Thats all I've ever used! I've always just put my girls initials on the labels of clothes. (and they've got the same initials - fab for passing clothes down
)
For shoes - you can buy shoe labels from Clarks. £5.50 ish for 20 labels that stick inside the shoe and then a transparent label to put over the top to stop the name rubbing off. I dont know if they sell them cheaper anywhere else.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
I've used SimplyStuck and the labels were very good, a reasonable size and quite bright. The only odd thing was that they were sent from Australia.0
