Car insurance help needed

Last September I bought a car and started driving again after a period of 5 years. I have a clean licence of 20 plus years and I had a letter from my last insurance company showing 5 years no claims. It seems companies only accept them for up to 2 years so I basically got quotes as though I was a new driver and I am currently paying £117 per month DD. Anybody know how I go about getting a better deal even though its only been 6 months the current cost is crippling my finances- also anybody know any companies to try please.

Moneynews, it's a tricky one. Now that you're halfway through the first year likelihood is you're better off seeing the year out and getting a years NCD. After that you should be in a much better place with more insurers to choose from. If you do find a deal now do check on the costs of exiting your current policy which again might be prohibitive0
