For £49 from woollies
It's this one which in store in Aylesbury had an extra £10 off - figured it would do fine for the minor alterations i need to do and maybe small projects
Now i just have to find some patterns for things or I'll be sewing cushion covers for the rest of my life

Can't seem to get your link to work... could be because I'm on library computer. Getting a new machine is great, but I will be saving up for a decent model. Mine is some random brand, I got it for my 21st birthday. It's fine on simple stuff, but throws a paddy when you threaten it with slightly thick fabric, anything but good Gutterman thread, or a zigzag stitch
I sewed all my wedding clothes on it and after that I was ready to throw it out of a very high window!!
Saying that, my grandmother has a cheapy machine she got from Aldi and it works a treat. So you never know!
Any ideas what you;re going to be sewing first with it?0 -

I really fancy this book, Bend the rules of sewing. I've ordered it from the library to see if it's any good, before I splash out!

Tine - Did you look in the sewing shop on the underground market (The Cloisters)? They have quite a few 'easy' patterns (I keep looking at the knitted bag they have hanging up). Also at the back of the fabric shop by Wilkos, there are books and books of patterns. There are a few other small shops dotted around the town, but you might think I'm stalking you or something, so I'll stop there :rotfl:C Card £5218.68 (Feb 2011)£2 coins (No 085) - £190Mort overpayments 2011 - £418.060

Hi,
I would recommend this book. I recently got it and have a list of projects in waiting,
good luck
