Good luck to you two! I am in a slightly similar position...I have a ccj in my file it's been satisfied and the six years are up in August so it will be officially off my credit file! Woohoo! However me and my boyfriend put an offer in for a house of 163,000 which got accepted last week. I also have a default which was registered on my file in December 2014 for £260 from a pay day loan company (so stupid wish I could turn back time) my boyfriends credit is perfect we both have credit cards and car finance. I'm building my credit up everyday anyway we went to a mortgage broker who wen away to get us a mortgage with Halifax and we got declined he thinks it will be my default as it has not been satisfied. I'm going to pay this off and apply again after the ccj has been cleared in August am just hoping this default now won't affect my future mortgage applications I thought ccj were worse but I think I could be wrong. Not sure how you guys got accepted with a couple of defaults?? V jealous. We were putting down 10% as a gift from his dad and also we have help to buy isas! Suppose it just means more saving now 0

Well to say we are devastated would be an understatement.
After all this worry and waiting for the final part of our application, the valuation.
Our buyer has pulled out at the very last minute.
She was an old lady, and she said the garden was too big for her after coming for a final look.
Absolutely fuming about it, and I find it ridiculous that she can just pull out at any moment.
The new build is ready to move in so the only option we have now is the builder agreeing to part ex the property, which they were going to do originally.
But the issue with that is they would also have to gift us a 5pc deposit on top, due to us needing 15pc deposit to get a mortgage.
Just hoping they can do something for us this late in the day.0 -
Thats such a shame ! Got my fingers crossed for you - have you spoke to the building company for the new build ? Pain this house buying /selling0

Hi Guys,
My Mortgage Advisor submitted my halifax application on Wednesday 26/7/17 and also took payment for the valuation.
How does the valuation work if you are buying a new build property, house not due to be completed until end of October.
Does this also mean i have passed credit checks/affordability.
How long should it take to get a mortgage offer. I live in scotland.

Hi...
i got my mortgage offer from halifax and today solicitor called to say that the purchase price they have written on offer is actually the valuation price...property valued at £195000 and we are buying for £207000... we had told the mortgage advisor at the the time of interview but clearly some misunderstanding happened... i have already contacted halifax and they said the purchase price they have in system is £195000 and said another advisor will call me when they have time to let me know whats gonna happen now....my concern is do i need to go through the whole process of making new application again? or what will happen in cases like these......
any info will be much appreciated...thanksssss0 -
Hi, did you have to provide bank statements when applying for the mortgage promise (AIP)?
How many did Halifax request in the end?0
