Work mileage/ fuel costs

Morning all, I'm after advice as to wether I'm entitled to claim anything back for fuel/mileage. Basically I'm employed by a company who supply me with a vehicle and fuel card, I do approx 700 miles per week, every month I'm charged for my fuel costs minus the VAT, however, this is deducted from a bonus pot and then the remaining money is paid as bonus, so technically I'm not charged directly but my wages are affected by the deduction. Hope that makes sense.
Brett.

How do you mean?
Claim back for the mileage that is already paid for by the fuel card?
I think that's known as having your cake and eating it?Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -
No, my company supply's me with a fuel card, I pay for fuel totalling approx £300 per month with it, they then charge me £240 from my wages each month. This is only work related mileage, not used for private use. No cake neither.0

what is the split between your commute and company miles.
Seems a strange system0 -
That's a difficult question, I live in Kent 100 miles away from my office in oxford I work on various sites all over the country and only really visit my office a couple of times a year, not sure if travelling to and from sites is classed as commuting or business use?0

I think they are running a VAT scam.
You can bet your wage they are claiming the VAT on the fuel and then charging you it.
Or are they deducting the VAT from the section they charge you ?I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
They are claiming the VAT back and then charging me the remaining cost on a monthly basis.0

Are you not supposed to give them the amount of private miles you do so they can charge you the fuel on this amount.
I think you need to talk to them because paying the company fuel bill sounds bizarrae.0 -

This seems a very odd set up, when I had a fuel card and company car (do you have a company car/vehicle?), you put all fuel through on fuel card, then were charged for private mileage not the miles you did on company business.
Sorry about the cake, clearly misunderstood your set up.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0
