Since this morning, my desktop has done nothing but crash dump(blue screen) starts back up and a while later it does the same thing all over again.
I keep it as clean as I can. Malware/Avast/ADW Cleaner and sometimes Ccleaner. Is this something more that I could be missing? Thanks

Overheating CPU, faulty memory.....
I would take the lid off, check the CPU heatsink and fan and give them a good clean out. Hopefully its not as bad as this:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
update or rollback avast, or system restore
blue screen of death has nothing to do with dust, heatsinks or ramDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
What do you mean by RollbackAvast??If youcan lie down at night knowing in your heart that you just made someone’s day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day!!0

rollback means undo the latest update, just update it (program and definitions) instead
if the problem continues post the full bsod messageDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
Haven't been able to look at my oc though I did the rollback of Avast which I am now guessing may not be the problem. I'm sitting at my desktop and it just went black, into power mode and effectivley rebooted itself. It is also taking an age to go through the reboot, Welcome page staying for over 8 mins. Any further ideas/suggestions?If youcan lie down at night knowing in your heart that you just made someone’s day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day!!0

Im afraid i must correct this information for the OP
(Im sorry because i know that you hate it when i quote you)
But BSOD can ABSOLUTELY be cause by RAM.
Any BSOD that has the words "DATA_BUS_ERROR (0x0000002E)" or similar, can be a symptom of faulty RAM
Im shocked you dont know this as "IT is your forte"
To the OP, the immediate nature of the fail does suggest it may be due to overheating.
Have you opened the case and cleared out all the vents etc ?0 -
AndyPix is absolutely correct. I bought cheap RAM from China, had nothing but problems including BSOD many times. Replaced the cheap stuff with OCZ and crucial RAM, have not had a BSOD since.0
