You have to read manual for guidance on installation by your self.

Simply plug them in and play. There is no additional power sources are required because the cameras have an integrated power supply. The equipments are pre-configured, meaning that you only need to plug in the cables, connect the system to a power source and a monitor, and it will start working and recording video.
    Hope this will help you.
If still problem remains. There are many CCTV installation companies that can help you to setting up your security cameras.

Look at the Arlo system. Wireless cameras and a base station that plugs into your internet router.

Control/monitor from a smartphone or tablet. Motion activated, long battery life (13 mths or so), motion alerts to e-mail and to chosen phones/tablets.

Easy to install. If you can drill a hole in a wall, you can install them. Make things easy for yourself and attach to window sills or frames, so that you have easy access for installation and battery changing.

If you're just looking for a "set and forget" system then the Netgear Arlo should serve your needs.

No need to buy the expensive outdoor version if you're going to have it inside.

Pretty easy to setup and use.

Which system are you referring too? Sounds easy but don't know which system.

We paid £400 for a 4 cam kit and £250 for a company to install it (and an additional feed for a yet to be purchased 5th camera).

The install was running cables from the CCTV main unit through a wall into a cupboard, up into the attic space and split across the loft and through the eaves - into conduit and then into IP rated boxes where the cameras are mounted on. Connections are inside the IP rated box.

You would probably be better paying someone to do it correctly, they will set up the hard drive and any phone apps for you as well.

Surely the whole idea of alerts from motion activation is to alert you before the crims get into the house? i.e. give you warning before they pick locks or break windows?

Setting up a camera to alert you once someone is inside is shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, surely?
  • I got done with mine. I was thinking of getting it done myself but couldn't do it, so I hired a team. They did all the wok. The wiring in my house was a bit messy so, they took 3 days to get all the six cameras up and working.

I got hard drive for two camers so I get around 4 weeks of recordings before it cover over

Easy to set up just set cameras up I put camera cables in a two outside junction boxes

and joined the cameras to the outside grade cat30 I didnt use cat30 that came with the kit. connected the cables in my garage where the recorder is. and the recorder is connected to a homeplug. I have another homeplug via router so can view recordings in 1080p on pc, mobile, tablet

I can have up to four cameras and I do have a old lcd tv and mouse connected to the recorder but rarely use. I can go into full screen below, blank out areas for privacy as shown and it can also alert me to areas of movement when I playback recordings

I wonder about the value of cctv. Do the police take any interest in the recordings.Burglary seems to be of little interest to the police round my way.

I got my cameras purely because my car has been hit 3 times whilst parking and I live on a quite but narrow cul de sac.
