A rear impact would normally force you backwards into your seat at first and then you may well recoil forward towards the steering wheel but if your seatbelt was working correctly, the only ways that I can think of that you would hit the wheel "at full force" is if your seat mounts gave way or you were driving with your seat fully forward and your head only inches from the wheel.I should state that I thought I had been hit in the face but the firebrigade said NO I was slammed into the steering wheel at full force... ( by the way no airbags release from a rear impact)0
