So did they refund the money you paid for the first refill?

Indeed. If they didn't, I would be asking them why, as they clearly failed to diagnose the problem correctly.

With two things up to now not working and having to be replaced/repaired we're beginning to think we bought a lemon. :(

There one inescapable fact about car buying, unless your buying a new car or one that's just finished a PCP/lease term, then in all likelihood the previous owner got rid because it had a fault or two.

The thing about car buying is realising this and figuring out why it was sold BEFORE you buy it. Some people will get rid of a car because the ashtray is full........

I've got a Mazda 2 less than a year old with the same problem,, it's a known fault. Waiting on parts.
I hope they get it sorted for you quickly. We rang the Mazda helpline a couple of times to find out when they were sending out the part to the dealer. We threatened to go to the ombudsman if they didn't get a move on.

No, the manager who authorises it was on honeymoon at the time, but it's due for a service soon so we will ask again, or failing a refund get a voucher for the next re-gas free. We won't let it lie, that's for sure. To be fair, it wasn't the dealer's fault, they've done their best throughout. Even not checking thoroughly the first time was down to instructions from Mazda, it was a case of refill it and see if that cures it and if not then delve deeper. Par for the course when you're getting it done for free I suppose, try the cheapest thing first.

It was an Enterprise hire car before we bought it. They get rid of their cars when they've done so many miles and not because there's something wrong with it. Our last car, a Citroen Xsara, was an ex hire car and that was in perfect condition and lasted us 14 years. The Mazda obviously had the fault from new but nobody knew about it until I started complaining the air con wasn't getting cold.

I've hired a car from them before where there was an instruction not to exceed 14,000 miles. Probably the term they arrange with the lease company they lease them from.

My statement was specifically worded such that it doesn't apply to new vehicles.
If your new car had a fault just outside of warranty and you sold it on, then it would apply and indeed it very often does.

I don't think it was a fault with the fitting when they built the car, it was a batch of faulty condensers. The fault lies with the manufacturer who made the condensers.
