Indeed, very nice of the companies to offer compensation. I think there was fault on both sides and it is nice that both CRC and DHL have acknowledged their part.

There are a lot of links on this website which has consumer rights information. Sadly, there can be hundreds of these types of questions each week on the forum and you are relying on the goodwill of others to offer FREE advice. It is kind of unreasonable to expect anyone on here to read and quote the relevant legislation for you, not least when most people do not have daily dealings with deliveries to India...

If you knew what was in the emails and why they were being sent you might understand what was going on but unless my emails have been hacked you will not know!

Errm, ok! Personally it would take me about 5 emails max to resolve an issue like this. May have provided a correct phone number to begin with as well (buying a local sim card in India and updating my profile with the company as soon as I arrive). That could have prevented all of this....

I am happy that CRC & DHL got this sorted even after 66 days.

My advice too the assumers who answered this question "Assumption is the Mother of all "£$% ups"

Just because people take time out of their day to post on here does not mean that they do not experience "the real world". Not everyone needs to travel to India on a biking trip to enjoy their life...
