Removing Creases from Carpets

Hi

We have just had a load of work done in our house, during which, several of the carpets were taken up. The carpets have now been put back but have several creases in them from where they were folded when they were taken up. I was just wondering if anyone ahd any top tips for getting rid of the creases and getting my nice flat carpet back, other than just a natural flattening with time as we walk around on the carpet?

I don't want to frighten you, but if they are hessian backed carpets with a high wool content that were folded rather than rolled & left for a fairly lengthy time like this, then the creases may be permanent.

I had something similar happen to a bedroom carpet a few years ago & when it was being relaid the carpet fitter warned me it was unlikely the crease would ever completely disapear.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
