YouTube sound

I'd like to download the sound (not interested in the video) to a l o n g YouTube video. Anyone have any idea how to do it?
I'm on a Mac.

Many websites offer this service ..


Here is one example :-

Just close the pop-up window that opens when you click "convert"
And then click on "download" for the mp3

AndyPix's suggestion will probably suit you, but just to add an alternative, in case you're likely to use it more often, there are a variety of download managers that can help with it.

There may be better options, but I use http://jdownloader.org/ , and once installed is very simple to use. Just copy the link & it will split the sound and video tracks, so it's easy to download just the audio if that's all you want.

stopped working a while back, always says doing maintenance, may be my ad block, either way it does not allow long videos as OP asked for.

I tested this one for a one hour video and it worked, I doubt it will do much longer

You may find that you can use a browser plugin, loads in Firefox, I use Ant Video Downloader and then rip the audio out of the MP4 file.

I confirm that http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ is working fine, but yes - it does have a length limit of 20 minutes that i wasnt aware of !
