Wonga Default

Options
Hi all,

Had a payment arrangement with Wonga and missed a couple of months.

Today I have logged onto my credit file to see they have defaulted my account. Can they do with without prior warning? Agreed it's my fault for missing the payments but thought they had to give you some notice at least?

A.

You can ask them to send you a formal default notice if you wanted.

It wont reverse the default however as they will likely point to their T&Cs and as this is a broken arrangement to pay you're on shaky ground when it comes to any claims of breach of contract by not telling you about the default.

I'd be getting to the DFW board also. There's a large thread about PDL's because of their behaviour giving loans to people who shouldn't have them and their excessive interest and charges. May be worth a look. If you're defaulting on a PDL it's likely worth going there too if you need help with debt too and talking to a debt charity like Stepchange is an idea also.
