Sat nav doesn't recognise postcodes, can you help?

We have that Garmin. Do not put a post code in the box at top left of screen, that is for a town etc.
Press "where to" and put post code in the post code box.
Remember that the sat nav will need access to satellites so will not work well in a garage or under trees etc.

spider962 exactly which sat nav do you have? How old is it and has it been updated recently?

Garmin standard input has not changed for years. Press "where to" which gives you a load of icons and a search box. Do not use the search box as it will not recognize post codes, instead press "address" which gives you the option of town, post code, search all and change country. As alluded to earlier the country selection must be correct, if in UK use that and not E, S or W.
