Strange question on saving

Hello everybody,
I am sorry for asking this unusual question.Hope, somebody might help me.

I need a statment showing my total balance rather than the details of dates and amount of money moving in and out to sponsor somebody here.

I am doing my banking with Halifax and Barclays.I have got a decent income per month but no savings at all.I have got around £8000.00 in my current account that has been moved (electronic transfer) from other accounts.

I want to put this money into an account so that I can get/request a letter from the bank which will only tell me that I have got this amount of money into my acount rather than the dates when original money was put into account.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Thanks in advance for help.

So you want a statement with only your balance, not the details. For starters I'm guessing the £8k isn't earning much interest in that current account, so how about opening a savings account, that way you'll get a statement simply showing the entry of those funds.

Check out the Savings Account Article, updated weekly with the best buys on the market. That way you can decide the best savings account (best rate at the moment is 6.4% from Bradford & Bingley) and then shift it over.

    Thanks Grabman.
I did not really make the point clear.
I am not bothered by interest really. What I want is just a statement saying I have got this amount of money into my account. And the statement would not show when the money was put into account. If it shows that the money was put into account on...date.....it would be a bad thing for me.As I mentioned, I just want the balance to show them.If they see the money was deposited in a shot period of time, this would not help me.

    Any further help?
    Thanks.

Try asking your bank for a certificate of balance. All it shows is your bal on a set date (which you state) which is presumably what you want?
