How much does it cost (ballpark figure) to remove small carpark dents. I.e them small annoying ones. Where someone has parked next to your car, then opened their door on yours. Thanks
I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.

    For me, costs nothing.

All you do is glue an object to the spot using hot melt glue (a long bolt head will do) then you yank on it until the dent pulls out, remove the glue with acetone and hammer the inverted dent flat with a rubber hammer.

Prices for PDR can vary so much that's very hard to give an approximation. The more expensive the car looks, the more they're likely to charge.

    Another baseless generalisation.

I had one done last year by a Dent Devils guy, I think he charged my around £80 for a couple of dents where somebody had opened their car door onto mine, one was a particularly tricky one on the shoulder crease of the door.

I did go to the main dealer's bodyshop to see what they were looking to charge and they wanted in excess of £500 stating that no PDR could remove the dents, how wrong they were.

Don't you end up just pulling the paint off doing that?

That's how Dent Devils do it. Obviously they have professional tools for the job.

Had one done a few weeks ago and cost me £45 but I've used the guy a few times now
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • Round here they'll do up to 3 dents in the same panel for about £90. I'm not sure what strider is on about - I've never seen a PDR guy use glue or a hammer.

The dent devils I used don't use the glue pulling method. The best method is to get behind the dent and push it out, then carefully knock back until you have flat, smooth finish. It's all a bit heart in mouth when you see them doing it to your car but panels can usually take a bit of punishment without damaging the paint.
