Which insurers for house with annex?

I'll admit we've not insured it properly since moving in a year ago. However it wasn't inhabitable then and now it's a one bedroomed bungalow but with no cooking facilities.
It's in the garden and you can only access it through our garden or house.
I'm currently paying less than £400 a year for insurance. One quote I've had was £1700 with annex!?
Surely this can't be the case!!

It will depend on each insurers wording, as to what you have to disclose.
Does the annexe pay its own council tax?0 -
Your explanation of the Insurance risk is far too vague for anyone to offer advice.
Contact a large brokers like Towergate with all of the information and they will tell you what Insurance is available. You need to speak to someone that deals with such risks and Towergate as a very large brokers has a lot of different policies available. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
