I have still an old moblle phone that I only use occasionally but I still have over £20 credit on it. It is still on the Orange network which I believe was taken over by EE. If I take it to an EE shop will I have to pay to change provider. I want to retain my mobile number. I understand Orange connections will cease by the end of the year. thank you for any advise.

Humm. Didn't know they were stopping it.
They are phasing out all legacy products. Webspace gone. Email going in May.
Your notification should give details.
Is t mobile stopping too?
You could txt your remaining credit to charity near the end of the year.
You could transfer to other places. In fact it's a more reliable way of keeping your number. Try Virgin or asda or Vectone0 -
I too have Orange/EE/T Mobile, Im not totally sure which as I was with orange initially but sometimes T 'Mobile comes up when I switch the phone on. I'm using up the last of my credit before a new phone arrives this coming week. My old sim card won't fit a new smart phone (Motorola G5 new one just out). I want if possible to keep my old number so in which order do I start the process of changing provider?
I am thinking Three 123 on PAYG or Talk Talk £5 per month as they are my internet provider.
Sorry to jump on BillSnow's thread but thought it was all linked in with original posters query.

You can of course cut your old sim for a couple of quid. But a good time to change.
Keep some credit (couple of texts worth) as I think this is needed for number transfer.
You get your new sim with a new number. Ensure your happy and then you port the old number over0 -
Thanks, will do that.0
