Been quoted £2K to add 18.5m2 tarmac section and re-tarmac existing 18.5m2 section. Includes limestone sub-base and bog-standard concrete edging. Seems quite steep to me, is it fair? Thanks

Does anyone know please? I am getting some other quotes to compare and have now read that you should expect to pay at least £1K for a proper job, by a reputable company using reputable materials. But obviously, this quote is double that. It's only a single driveway that I want enlarged to a double. ThanksMinimalist

Sounds very reasonable to me.0

Not sure but don't you need pp to lay a non-permeable drive. I would think the extra you plan would be classed as an additional drive as you are widening it from one car to two.0

Could you explain more clearly what you are trying to say? I assume pp is shorthand for planning permission? I wasn't aware that you would ever need planning permission for a driveway. We don't plan on widening the dropped the kerb, so I didn't think the council needed to be involved? Why should the council care if I widen my drive, it will form part of the same driveway and will not be a separate additional drive. It's my land and it will remove a vehicle from being parked on the road in a potentially dangerous position.Minimalist
