help with strange info on report

Options
Just before my husband and I applied for a mortgage we checked his credit rating on both Experian and Noddle. That was in January. The other day I had a look at his Noddle report again to see if the lender's search was showing and if it had any affect on his rating there. I didn't see the search from the lender, but what did magically appear was years' worth of reporting from Creation Financial Services Limited. It wasn't there the last time I looked, and it wasn't on the Experian report, and my husband has no idea where it came from. He thinks he might have been blagged into signing up for some store card - the account began in 1998 so he really just can't remember even IF that happened, much less with whom it might have happened.

What on earth can we do about this? Why is it just showing up now? Shouldn't it have been there the last time we checked with Noddle and Experian? Is this worth disputing at some point even though the account shows that it has been current since it was opened? We are really at a loss. We certainly don't want to do anything that might affect the credit rating until we complete on the house, but after that it's game on. Any ideas or suggestions?

Is there something about the account which is showing as a negative? If not, I would think it can only help to show a solid credit history.

Nope, it shows a balance of £300 which apparently hasn't been used in the nineteen years since the account was opened. :rotfl:

Hopefully you mean limit, not balance?
