    Mortgage-free Glee!
Just checked our mortgage interest charge for the month and it's fallen a whopping £149 since last month:T

BUT Since this time last year it has fallen £479:j Last year it was £849, this month £370.

    Per day that's a reduction from £28.03 to £11.93 - a saving of £16.10 per day

    or 67p per hour :rotfl:

    1) Keep going with the "Use-it-up-Challenge". So no new clothes or books for me;) and try and not buy DVDs, make up, perfume, etc etc..

    2) Try and use all those vouchers I get from Boots, Sainsburys, Tesco, etc. Just set up a new spreadsheet for this LOL:rotfl:

3)No holiday abroad this year:o Plan something nice for 2010 - hopefully better exchange rates then.

    4) Try and keep our Scenic running for another year. It's running well at the moment;)

That's it I think...I'm just gonna try and spend as little as possible without being to tight with the kids.

    All the Best

Good to hear of the excellent progress and the resolutions; good luck in achieving it all.

Sterling has levelled a bit against other currencies (see the FT web site where they plot currency and markets globally as coloured maps from the two images on this page http://markets.ft.com/markets/overview.asp?ftauth=1231269741267) so don't write off the idea of a foreign holiday just yet e.g. Turkey will probably still be cheaper than UK and they really welcome children over there.

Thanks for that. We are also a bit short of airmiles this year, so that is yet another reason to stay at home:D.

I did see a long term weather forecast that said the UK was in for a good summer - the El Nino effect apparently - well I can hope:rotfl:

  • Your new years resolutions look good - I'm also still on my own "use it up" challenge.....I've got a while to go before I need to buy shampoo still, that's for sure! I also seem to be overrun with moisturiser for some reason!

The voucher thing is also a sound plan - it's amazing how these mount up isn't it - I am averaging about £1.30 a week off my Tesco shop at the moment thanks to the vast number of coupons we got given at the Good Food Show! :rotfl:

Your energy use monitoring is still going well I see - actually it's ironic you sending your freezer off for recycling - we've just bought a second one as we want to take advantage of bulk buys on meat etc.....and our original preezer was just half of a tall fridge/freezer so no good for that sort of thing. It is an A rated one though so not too bad.
