Divorce Costs

Hi, first post here :)
my current GF went through a divorce in 2015.
her ex-husband signed on the divorce papers to pay the divorce costs (£410)
He never paid.
She's currently going through money claim online.
We've issued a judgement for the money. not paid
Now applied for a warrant today.
I'm aware it takes a few days for the court to accept this & now nothing to do with money claim online after this has taken place.

Can anyone give me a step-by-step process of what we do next if the ex-husband doesn't pay/respond to the warrant?

Many Thanks :)

They finalised a divorce without receiving payment?! Done it twice myself and don't remember paying at the end, thought I sent a cheque off with the paperwork. Did you friend pay and is trying to get it reimbursed, or does he owe the courts direct?

  • No my girlfriends paid the courts upfront. Her ex-husband signed the divorce papers to say he would pay her back for the divorce but as Yet hasn't, forcing her to go down this route.
We rung the courts a few months after the divorce finalised and they advised this route as the divorce Was finalised so they can do nothing.

Wait an see if the bailiffs can recover the money, if not then you will have to apply either for an order for questioning, a third party debt order or an attachment of earnings order.
