FlyeBe Insurance Scam- please advise

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help.
I bought 2 flights from Glasow to Belfast, with no hold luggage- total time in the air is about 30 minutes. I unclicked the insurance, but must have gone back a page, then moved forward without unclicking it the second time, booked the flight and paid for it, insurance and all.
This was on the 16th September. I immediatley sent an email to their accounts dept to request a refund- as directed by the site. I was at the airport the same day and spoke to someone at the Flybe desk- she confirmed it was the right address and it was easy to refund the money, as long as it was less than a couple of days before the flight. I sent another email to follow this up on the 18th Sept and forwarded both emails to their customer complaints dept on the 21st, and have still received no response. I fly a week tomorrow. I don't want to call them if i can avoid it- to pay this company 10p a minute to be told to email the address i have already contacted will make me feel even more conned.
OK- ready...*rant*
I was furious when this happened- I felt like I had been conned- their site is designed to trick you into paying for things you don't need- apart from the insurance which you have to remember to unclick each time, they automatically add the cost of one bag, which you also have to remember to unclick. Plus they make it difficult to not pay extra to choose your seat- they tell you to select it and pay £5 (rather than ask if you would like to) and when you eventually figure out how to move with out paying on a pop up asks if you are sure- there are still seats available -making it sound like you might be losing your seat. It is £5 to chose a seat for each flight- flights which are never full and, as i said, last about 30 mins!
ok rant over...
So- does anyone know who i should copy into the next email- is there an insurance ombudsman or flight watchdog or something?
I really feel as though i have been scammed by some half baked company who now refuse to answer my calls and are waiting for me to give up.
What should I do next?
Thanks! Cathy.

Am I going to be the first to ask why this is a scam?
The issue, surely is that their customer service is poor in not responding to your problem. Everyone makes mistakes (as you did) and they should be able to solve the problem for you. As you haven't travelled yet, they can cancel the insurance.

it is a scam because you are tricked into paying for something that has no value to you. You have to be constantly watching out for all the little additions they throw in and automatically add on. No rational person would pay for this insurance, and if I really needed insurance for such a short internal flight I could get something at a fraction of the price.
Thanks for the number, i'll try them.

How were you tricked? All I see is somebody who didn't check their booking before pressing the "book" button0

If you went back a page, then the page you were on would have had the insurance ticked, so really, you should have unticked it again when you went forward again or am I missing something?

Going back and forth always seems to change things with nearly all airlines' websites, and some other websites aswell, like car insurance, it is something to definitely to watch out for, I often just go back and start again.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
