Hello
Do you need to get planning permission from the council if you are having new windows and replacing your old guttering/soffits?
We had a new back door, kitchen window and soffits put in over the summer, but a friend has recently commented that we should have got permission even if it is replacing like for like? Is this true?

or possibly a conservation area. I know where I am we can't replace our front windows without a lot of hassle.only if you live in a listed building.
Are they mixing up Building Control with Planning Permission? A lot of people confuse the two.A house isn't a home without a cat.

for windows etc... as long as the company is FENSA registered then you dont need building regulations unless you live in a listed house or conservation area when you would need planning permission.
If the company you used are not FENSA registered then yes you need building regulations0
