Reply boxes

OK, I know I'm going to feel seriously stupid within about a nano second of asking this, but:

Has anyone elses reply boxes changed or is it something I have done to my own.

The smilies are now in a box over there

did you just use quick reply rather than the reply key?

no, its not that as I just tested that but if you aren't in "enhanced mode" the smillies are at the side and not in the drop down menu under the white smillie!



the only thing I can think is have you changed something using your UserCP and its scrolled off of "enhanced mode" ?

I'm in enhanced mode, just tried to re-set it, but to no effect.

OK, I've just been experimenting and have realised what the problem might be.

Although I have my message editor interface set at enhanced, what I am getting is standard editor

I've tried changing the settings, working from basic upwards, logging out closing my browser and logging back in again and although the switch from basic to standard is fine, there is no difference when I change from standard to enhanced interface, the reply boxes are exactly the same.

Anybody got any ideas about how I can correct this?

Sorry if I am pointing out the obvious but are you saving the changes?

Off to have a go at this as I have always been "enhanced" :rotfl:

In the standard mode for me all the smillies are down the left hand side rather than having the white smillie with the drop down box??

However I just saved changes, have you tried reset the field?

I can't reproduce the problem

Just tried to disable all sorts of stuff in Firefox an IE to see if something being missing would make the forum default to Standard

but can't find anything

Does this happen in other browsers?

That is what I get Edinburghlass, even though the mode is set at enhanced. I have reset fields (subscribed threads have now vanished, so I think that worked!) and saved changes but there is no change.

Sra, it is the same in all browsers, Firefox is my default and I have tried IE and Netscape.

I'm fairly certain I had not opened my User CP on the day it happened (date of OP).

I also get an error message when I change my avatar, but the new avatar is accepted anyway. I have noticed other members have mentioned the same thing recently. (And no, I'm certain that it is is not a sizing problem in my case.)

Thanks for trying to help, I'm getting used to using standard now, but I do miss the convenience of enhanced.
