Impact of Loan Default on Claim

I have no idea with one exception whether or not I was missold PPI. On the one loan that I now know it was added, I subsequently defaulted. At the time of taking out the loan it was with Alliance & Leicester which of course is now owned by Santander. The lender does not know my address although they could find it on my credit record. I want to make a claim but am concerned it will make the lender restart chasing me for the outstanding debt. They are currently not doing so. What is the risk for me and has anyone had the same experience?

At best, any redress will go to the lender in lieu of what you didn't pay.

At worst, they will chase you for the debt if not statute barred.
