Direct Debits for Nationwide FlexDirect

I do agree with this sentiment. My question arises due to my wife and I having a Joint Account as well as our own individual accounts. I messaged Nationwide directly to confirm they would pay the reward to both of us if I recommended our joint account as well as her individual account and they said yes.
Keep a copy of the message & you should be able to win a battle if they don't pay the referral reward.
My OH referred our joint account, followed the process and neither of us got a reward. They said because both parties had already had one. Is that the case with you?
So if you're successful I shall be after them.
Let us know how you get on, plse.0 -
Hi All,
Does anyone know how long the direct debits need to be active for?
I've got an existing FlexDirect account and am planning to refer my wife. We have created an everyday account with Santander that can be used for the full switch, we don't have any existing DD's that can be transferred so I'm considering setting up DD's to charities and then cancelling them a few months after the switch.
We intend on keeping the account active for a year to take advantage of the 5% interest.0 -
I will answer my own question, Nationwide just confirmed I don't need to keep the direct debits active for any length of time after the switch. I will keep them active for a couple of payments just in case.0

I successfully referred our joint account from my Nationwide account. However, this was the first reward either of us had received. I haven't yet tried referring her separate account. I will let you know if/when I get round to that.0
