And you agreed to this term? Really?
average human height. Im 5ft6 and when i stand next to it, its at my waist height. And yes i did, its been a long horrid affair selling the property, so to get it over the line i agreed0 -
Did they say what they wanted it covered with? If you've already exchanged, then a nice coat of bright yellow paint so it's really visible might do the trick.......
Seriously, why as a purchaser would you leave this for a vendor to sort out unless there are very specific products mentioned to cover this with.
They have specified nothing in particular, just asked if i could cover it0 -

Have you got long legs or short legs? You could have 4ft legs or 1 ft legs? Fancy agreeing to something that is easily sorted and will help push through the sale of your house, you crazy crazy person!!

You'd think you had asked some complicated particle physics question. :rotfl:0 -

If there's nothing in the contract, is there a legal requirement or building regulations to cover it?
I would have thought it would be within the remit of the gas supplier to do it.
You can get something to enclose gutter pipes, you could do something similar with the gas pipe. http://www.gutterspares.co.uk/rainwater-pipe-protector-2467-p.asp
If you just have to cover it, it's very ambiguous. You could have one of those rubbery protection fitted (like those swimming pool noodles) and it is covered.EU expat working in London0 -
If it says to cover it without specifying what to use, you could buy some of this which is easy to just slip over the pipe

Think i will just go for this.0 -
I think because it is a gas pipe, the covering being requested is more for a safety aspect. So the pipe does not get knocked into, or dislodged, damaged. So may take on the covering is some sort of covering to protect the pipe. But as nothing is clearly specified you may just get away with pipe insulation for couple of quid.0

If there is no contractual specification, I'd justput a paper bag or two over it.
Totally ludicrous to expect the seller to do anything about this.0
