For anyone reading this threat looking for tips on problem solving an actual boiler as the thread title suggested, if you have had recurrent problems and your usual tradesperson hasn't fixed it, try calling out someone from the manufacturer or their local service engineer - they'll have the proper diagnostic equipment and spares for your boiler. I'd much rather take one day off and get it fixed first time than have it drag on with people who aren't specifically trained for my make of boiler.0
