A huge thanks for sharing this. We've investigated and written a news story on it:

Halifax pays out 'missing rewards' to 1,000s of Clarity cardholders - are you due £100+?

Back to Whoknowskt89's original post...

Hi all

Very strange one...
I just logged into my online banking to find on my credit card 2 credits from Halifax, one stating missing reward and one additional interest.
This totals just over £100!
Now it's only just showing on the account and I've had no communication from Halifax.

Will this be from some extra I didn't realise I had with my card or bank error?

I've had the credit card for years (I'm thinking around 5 years) and it's now used for online shopping and paid in full before anything is due. Original I got it and paid it in full to assist credit rating.

Thanks for any help!

    This is confusing.
Are you saying that a credit has appeared on one card for an unspecified amount as 'missing reward' and a debit has appeared on the other card for an unspecified amount of 'additional interest' and that this debit and credit somehow total £100? +£100 or -£100?
I agree this is a very strange one. Can't work it out. Call Halifax in the morning and let us know what they say. This is very curious,
  • I've discovered the same two credits on my card this morning as well, totalling just over £100. I'm guessing this is some reward that we are entitled to but which they never paid. Would be nice to know although am happy for them to do as often as they like.
  • Sorry Ben, I found that quite late last night.
Both credits, one for £85 one for £23.
Unfortunately I don't think I'll have time until this evening to call Halifax as I'm at work all day but as soon as I know why I'll post it.
  • Managed to find the time to call before work....
It's definitely correct, there should have been a reward payment for any month I used the credit card spending over £300 as I also hold a current account with them. They've back paid anyone with it and the missing interest the money could have made.
This has apparently happened to a lot of clarity card holders.

That's good news. They will have a lot of happy customers today.

I got it too. £85 missing reward credit plus £21.22 additional interest credit. Nice surprise this morning :)

I had two credits this morning £150 and £49 Lovely surprise! I guess it depends how long you had the card? Does anyone know when rewards were introduced, I've had £5 per month on my bank account for a few years but never knew I should be getting in on the card.
